he racial abuse row involving Andrew Symonds has reached its conclusion. And, Australia's controversial tour of India has come to an end - but not before fans singled Symonds out one last time for some harsh treatment.
The all-rounder was again targeted by spectators on Saturday night's Twenty20 clash against India at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, though there weren't any reports of racial abuse.
Symonds was heavily booed throughout the match and said he will be looking forward to his returning home to Australia.
The Australian has under the media spotlight recently, after repeated racial taunts were directed at him by fans in Vadodara and Mumbai in the space of six days.
After being named man of the limited-overs series, the tour could have been memorable for Symonds. His brilliant performances, however, have been overshadowed by fiery exchanges with Indian quick Shantha Sreesanth and the monkey noises directed at him by the fans.
Australian captain Ricky Ponting felt the hostile crowd had been particularly harsh towards Symonds.
"I think everything was fine," said Ponting.
"I didn't hear anything untoward tonight. They got stuck into us a little bit, but that's to be expected.
"I don't know why every time Symo's name was mentioned that they booed him.
"I think he's entertained the crowd quite well over the last couple of weeks."
