Afghanistan ensured they will compete at their second consecutive World Twenty20 tournament later this year courtesy of a 47-run victory against Namibia in Dubai. The conflict-embattled nation defended their title in this T20 World Cup qualifying tournament and will now compete against the big boys in Sri Lanka later this year.

Shane Watson was back to his best as Australia claimed victory in their opening Twenty20 international against West Indies in St Lucia, hitting 69 runs from 43 deliveries to help the tourists to an eight-wicket win. Mike Hussey picked up from where Watson left off to take the visitors over the finish line with his half-century; Australia wrapping up victory with 11 balls to spare.
