Showtime's new dark-comedy series,
House of Lies Box Set will not premiere on that channel until Sunday, January 8. But, thanks to a benevolent YouTube posting by the cable network, you don't need to wait. Instead, you can watch the House of Lies premiere right here and right now!
Granted,
Two and a Half Men Box Set is, according to the disclaimer at the beginning of the video, a slightly edited version of the actual House of Lies pilot. With a run-time of about 34 minutes, however, you won't be missing much. Need some more information before you dive into a new cable series?
House of Lies stars Oscar-nominee Don Cheadle as Marty Kaan, a high-flying management consultant. He is joined at work by a team of underlings: Jeannie (Kristen Bell, of Veronica Mars fame), Clyde (Ben Schwartz, probably most recognizable from his recurring role of Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Recreation) and Doug (Josh Lawson). We also get a look at Marty's home-life -- on the rare occasions that he's home anyway. That home consists of a cross-dressing but surprisingly confident son, a psychologist father (who doubles as a nanny) and an ex-wife/work rival who occasionally sleeps over.
In theory, the management consultants of Marty's "pod" help companies restructure for greater success. In reality,
Touch Box Set seem much more interested in separating big corporations from their money (via strip clubs, expensive meals and insanely long contracts) and having sex. That"s no joke about the sex, by the way. This is Showtime, after all.
