Funny that cricket seem to be connected with world happenings politics. The careers of allan border, imran khan and richard hadlee might had been banned to be showcased on tv cause of anti-aparthied racism in world cricket. So in 1991, south africa ban was also uplifted and started to play international cricket.
So was cricket before 1991 been played as racist in nature? Like as cricket being 'Only White's game?'

Then you might remember the 1983 world cup winning indian team, they used apply white make-up, lipstick in those days in their dressing room to look fairer in their cricket racism spectrum. The indians kapil dev, roger binny, sunil gavaskar, m.amarnath ...etc looked much fairer than even the pakistani 1983 team who infact were originally white skin.
Pakistan came to be glamourous cricket in 1988.
Even australia 1987 world cup winning side if you recall their photo they were dirty mud covered men with make-up and lipstick!
But those were old times, after south africa came into cricket they never showcased any glamour. So cricket since 1996 saw emergence of many black players and non- makeup players!!! Funny but true.
Nowdays racism is not prevalent in cricket, but as i have seen much cricket i feel when australian cricket team tours india for test matches, australians like to show racism.

I was watching the 20-20 match between india vs england. When england seamers were bowling, if i were batting the ball would had hit the grill of my helmet. But indian batsmen i have seen play quick moves shots like pre-meditated. Ordinary batsman like me would probably wait for the ball to appear near after pitching!

Since childhood days i am reading about cricket, i feel that false information is misleading me. The bats used in cricket are said by many batsmen that they find big ones much preferrable. Like sachin tendulkar, brian lara, vinod kambli, lance klusenor...etc. Many other players like n.sidhu, zimbabwe batsmen and kenyan batsmen used large wood big BDM, SS bats. Big large wood bats made stroke making slower even the back lift. With raising more chances of error in getting bowled against spinners or caught behind against fast bowlers. What i saw in the just concluded test series england vs india, that england batsmen and most australian batsmen never use long handle bats and neither the bats are of heavy large wood. Infact they use mostly thin small bats of GM ,kookaburra, english willow etc. Small bats give lighter weight for wrists giving more versatility for stroke playing. Small bats would crack at the bottom, but the modern bats used by english, aussie batsmen are made up of very hard wood gives a thwack to the ball which flies towards the boundary for a six.
Otherwise its really impossible to play legside shots even the pull with a heavy large bat.

I was on my usual workout at local ground and after when i was resting, i measured the ground which is in diameter along the circle circumference 155 meter in length. So i imagined there's a pitch was between and in cricket rulebook cricket ground are 145 meter in diameter length. So from the batsman view he has hit a shot towards the boundary at 75 meter distance....and thats tough. Cause i imagined the stroke generally dies out reaching the boundary. Then i imagined how would had been the cricket test matches that i had seen in the past. So i placed virtual famous bowlers like c.ambrose, courtney walsh, j. Srinath, v.prasad, w.younis, aquib javed, w.benjamin, shane warne versus sachin tendulkar, inzaman ul haq, steve waugh, brian lara, hansie cronje. So i think the run-up is slow and short and bowling action is zippy. The batsmen on the other hand try to hit the delivery bowled at them with double power. So the ball ricochets with double the speed than the bowler could bowl. The batsmen even tries to scoop the ball with the bat gaining gaps to score runs. The sixes are incredible with ball flying in sky high then reaching the boundary. Connecting the ball for such shots is impossible but somehow the batsmen make it look so easy. The funniest fielding sides are of west indies and australia. The teams of keith arthurton, gus logie, carl hooper...etc with australians craig mcdermott, mark waugh, david boon...etc. Now you might be thinking what makes me laugh at watching cricket!!! So its just funny cricket in my imaginations!

I have a great fascination about cricket bats since my childhood days. I read that the modern cricket bats come with six piece cane handle which reduces the impact shock absorption for the batsman when he plays his shots. So its science coming into play that the cricket bat actually acts like a whip which tends to distribute the force from the middle of the bat towards the bottom. I wonder of the shape of the bat, the reverse side of it is triangle tapering to the side rather than a rectangular wood with thinkened at the bottom. So is it possible that in black and white yester years cricket batsmen used to hold the bat reverse. Then the ball used to ricochet and angled late edge towards the third man???!

The most funny charismatic batting in modern day cricket which i liked the most is batting of shuan pollock and stephen fleming.

Shaun Pollock 69(34)* - South Africa v New Zealand at Perth VB Series 2001/02 - YouTube

Stephen Fleming 116* vs Australia 1997/98 MCG - YouTube

Stephen fleming and shuan pollock both have terrific record in their batting career. And their batting strokeplay are also good.
They were as i remember last known crowd pullers in cricket entertainment.
Funny that stephen fleming and shuan pollock are both generalized concepts of batting techniques in cricket. They represent their individual country batting styles. Most new zealand batsmen nathan astle, roger twose, chris cairns, chris harris moulded into one that is stephen fleming. And shuan pollock represents south african batting like tall batsmen of SA team. Africaner style of batting.

Nowdays it seems that the season cricket ball used doesn't produces correct thwack sound when it connects with bat stroke. As if the ball nowdays is made up of some synthetic material which when hit doesn't creates a thwack loud thud but a soft timber hit sound.

I was practising in cricket coaching club in year 2000 -2002, and i remember bowling on cement pitch. So i recall that i was not able to get batsmen out easily, as the ball used to skid on the pitch. The real beauty of cricket is a green wicket of not like said of the fast pitch kind, but the ball bowled moves through the air and after pitching on the seam moves inwards towards the batsman. I recall that such seam swing bowling was practised by zimbabwe seamers. But i recall in most of the cricket matches, even if the pitch was said to be of green top wicket for fast bowling, the bowling was infact most of the times dead. So are most cricket matches being played on dead wickets?
Wasim akram could bowl fastest deliveries on a dead wicket or curtly ambrose could skid off on a lifeless pitch.
If you can generalize this idea in your mind, then you can think that new zealand bowlers are infact slow bowlers.
Batting on a lively wicket is infact in my view is tough, but i don't know on which ground that such conditions are seen, perhaps in england and pakistan.
I am not bragging, but i once had a reputation of not getting out on any bowler of the world.

I just watched women's world cup final match highlights. And it was very funny to see women hitting fours strokes shots. That proves the ball used in cricket is of low weight. Or in other words that men too play with the same lightweight ball. If women had played with the heavy season ball cricketing strokes would had been impossible. The cricket ball is neither light as a tennis ball and neither heavy as a season ball.
It is available over the counter in the market, but given to only some players like partiality.
So it makes me laugh that men's cricket when played by this cricket ball is infact lollypop cricket like shane warne's bowling and funny batting!
