Default Can Kolkata Tigers topple the Badshahs Juggernaut?

The second semi finals of the Edelweiss 20s Challenge features the spirited lads from the city of Joy, Kolkata Tigers, take on the might of one of the world's top ranked T20 teams, Lahore Badshahs (Bartercard Power Rankings-No.3 in the world). The Badshahs have taken the world of cricket by storm by entering the top 3 ranking in only their maiden appearance & are looking set to take the top rank in the world if they win the competitive Edelweiss 20s Challenge. On the other side you have the Tigers, led by the combative Craig McMillan, have produced some of the most exciting close encounters in the tournament.

The big question of everyone's mind is can the Tigers play out of their skins to upset the invincible Badshahs of the ICL.

Kolkata Tigers: The spirited side showed its true prowess, when they won two high pressure games against the Chandigarh Lions & Delhi Giants to storm into the semi finals. The fulcrum of their batting revolves around the great Lance Klusener & prodigal Abhishek Jhunjhunwala ably supported by the experienced hands of Rohan Gavaskar, Craig McMillan & Andre Adams. The bowling is led by the quick springbok Hayward & kiwi all-rounder Adams, ably supported by the most improved domestic Indian pacer Abu Nechim. The surprise package might however turn out be the international leg spinner Upul Chandana, who has started to deliver the goods for the Tigers.

Lahore Badshahs: The meteoric rise of the Lahore Badshahs to become one of the top T20 sides in the world has marveled the entire global cricketing fraternity. Their invincible performance has set the benchmark in terms of performance level expected to be competitive at the Edelweiss 20s Challenge. The mainstay of the Badshahs batting citadel has been Hasan Raza, who has been in ominous touch, which has seen him display audacious strokes like cross sweeping quick bowlers bowling at him at over 140kmps. The bowling is spearheaded by the internationally acclaimed all rounder Azhar Mahmood, who according to some pundits possesses the best slower ball in the game, a critical weapon in the twenty over format.
