Second Test - Basin Reserve, Wellington.

New Zealand won the toss and elected to bowl.

England - 5/140 after 51 overs.

England doing poorly - always good to see.

England finished day 1 on 5/291. Not a bad recovery. Looks like this Ambrose guy is doing ok as he finished the day only 3 runs shy of his maiden test century in only his second test.

Well bugger me. England scored 342 and then bowled New Zealand out for 198 in 57 overs.
Anderson was the pick of the bowlers getting 5/73 from 20 overs.
England now have to bat out a further 8 overs before the close of play.

New Zealand require 438 with 2 days play left if they are to win this match. The odds are very much stacked against them, but anything is possible with 180 to bat out.

Saying that, they are currently 1/55 from 25 overs. Scoring at 2 runs an over won't win them the match.

England were all out for 253 in their first innings. Even worse, New Zealand were again bolwed out for a score under 200 when they were skittled for 168. Looks like they need some batting practice. Sidebottom finished with bowling figures of 7/47. Amazing effort.
England are currently 5/376 in their second innings, an overall lead of 461. Looks like England are going to wrap this one up as well.

I thought after the first Test England were going to be shamed but they have regrouped and put together 2 very good performances.

Edit..

Stumps, day 3. England are 416/5, an overall lead of 501.
