Default Cricket Pakistan: Shoaib may seek BCCI help to avoid PCB punishment

Shoaib Akhtar may turn to the BCCI to seek help in avoiding punishment on disciplinary charges framed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

According to reports in the local Pakistan media, Shoaib has already approached a top Indian cricket official to speak to the PCB chief.

The fast bowler was banned for 13 matches last year and fined 3.4 milliom rupees. If he is found guilty again, then he could face a longer fine or a heavier ban.

A decision on his case is slated to be taken on March 22 when the PCB's governing body meets in Lahore to discuss the recommendations of the disciplinary committee.

"Since the board is the complainant I don't want to say anything more on this issue," PCB's chief operating officer Shafqat Naghmi was quoted as saying.
