Robin Peterson returned figures of five for 33 as South Africa bowled out Bangladesh for just 119 to win the second Test by an innings and 205 runs and wrap up a two-nil series victory.

Following on after being bowled out for 259 in their first innings, Bangladesh had been reduced to 54 for five at stumps on the third day with Dale Steyn taking three wickets for just four runs.

And Graeme Smith`s side made short work of the hosts` tail on Monday morning, skittling them out in under 40 overs in just over an hour.

It completed a miserable performance from a woeful Bangladesh side after the South Africans had racked up 583 for seven declared in their first innings, a total that included a world-record opening partnership of 415 between Smith and Neil McKenzie.

Peterson claimed the first wicket of the day when he removed Mushfiqur Rahim for four after finding an edge that Jacques Kallis snapped up at slip to leave Bangladesh 58 for six.

That swiftly became 58 for seven as Mohammed Rafique departed second ball for a duck after tamely scooping an innocuous delivery from Peterson back into the bowler's hands.

Abdur Razzak and Shahadat Hossain then offered some resistance before the latter holed out to Ashwell Prince at long-off for 24 with the score on 114 to become Peterson's fifth victim.

And with Aftab Ahmed unable to bat after being taken to hospital on Sunday, Mashrafe Mortaza became the final wicket to fall when he fended Morne Morkel`s bouncer to McKenzie, who took a fine diving catch at gully.
