Ireland well beaten by Sri Lanka
Adrian Birrell's men were bowled out for 77 with Farveez Maharoof taking four wickets from 25 balls and Muttiah Muralitharan taking four from 19.
They made a solid start and stood on 20-0 before three wickets fell in quick succession to end all hope of a third win over a Test nation.
Jeremy Bray top-scored on 20, with five Irish batsmen out for a duck.
In reply, Sri Lanka reached their target in less than ten overs, ending the day on 81-2.
Boyd Rankin dismissed Upul Tharanga for a duck, before Kumar Sangakkara (10) was out off Dave Langford-Smith.
Ireland will now head home, with their opponents left behind to prepare for a semi-final date in Jamaica.
