Windies name unchanged squad for third Test
DURBAN, South Africa - The West Indies will retain their 16-man squad for the third and final Test match against South Africa at Sahara Stadium, Kingsmead, Durban, starting on Thursday.
Team Manager Clive Lloyd said Monday noted that there was no plan in place to have any additional players join the squad for the series decider.
Captain Chris Gayle has indicated he does not expect to be ready to face the South Africans in the final game. Gayle is recovering from a hamstring strain and fractured left thumb - which could keep him out for a minimum of two weeks.
Fast bowler Fidel Edwards is also recovering from a hamstring injury and will continue to be monitored on a day-to-day basis.
The West Indies arrived in Durban on Monday afternoon from Cape Town.
The three-match series is currently level 1-1. The West Indies won the first Test by 128 runs, while South Africa won the second match by seven wickets.
The squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Dwayne Bravo (vice captain), Daren Ganga, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Marlon Samuels, Runako Morton, Brenton Parchment, Devon Smith, Denesh Ramdin, Patrick Browne, Darren Sammy, Rawl Lewis, Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell, Fidel Edwards, Pedro Collins.
