TAUNTON is gearing up for a festival spirit when the world’s top women cricketers compete in next month’s World Twenty20.
All 12 group stage matches take place at Somerset’s HQ, The County Ground, also home of women’s cricket.
The six-day contest features England, Australia, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and West Indies.
Taunton warmed up for the tournament this week when England captain Charlotte Edwards and opening batter Caroline Atkins, who lives locally, showed off the World Cup the team won recently in Australia.
