Default Bangladesh’s miserable away tours, and lack of quality seamers

Hello everyone,,
First off, I don’t hate any of the fellow Bangbros in this subreddit. I’ve followed this team for a while myself, and can’t turn away from this sinkhole.

While Bangladesh have risen rapidly in ODIs, their test team remains a mess, especially in away tours.

The way Bangladesh prepares Home pitches shows that they really don’t care about Away performances. Sure, prepare pitches where balls almost turn 90 degrees, but this makes them sitting ducks in showbox.bio/ tutuapp.uno/ vidmate.vet/ places that offer any kind of seam movement. If they wanted to better themselves, they would’ve made their pitches at least a bit pace-friendly. Other countries have done this as well.

Their lack of variety is showing in their results:

Away series since 2016, most recent first

vs WI: Lost 0-2

vs SA: Lost 0-2

vs SL: Drawn 1-1

vs IND: Lost 0-1

vs NZ: Lost 0-2

Moral of the story: They need good pace bowlers, either with sheer pace, or consistent line and length with seam movement. You can’t play 4 spinners in SENA y’know.

Just for comparison’s sake, other countries have good (competent) spin AND pace bowlers.

AUS: Lyon & Starc/Cummins/Hazlewood

SA: Maharaj & Rabada/Steyn/Philander/Ngidi

ENG: Moeen/Leach/Rashid & Anderson/Broad/Woakes/Wood/Stokes

IND: Ashwin/Jadeja/Kuldeep & Bumrah/Shami/Ishant

NZ: Astle (not enough chances though)/Sodhi/Ajaz Patel/Somerville & Boult/Southee/Wagner

WI: Chase/Warrican/Bishoo & Roach/Gabriel/Holder/Joseph

SL: Dilruwan/Sandakan/Embuldeniya & Rajitha/ V Fernando/Chameera/Kumara/Lakmal

PAK: Yasir/Shadab & Amir/Hasan Ali/Mohammad Abbas

Bangladesh have too many spinners (all are beasts at home, of course), but very few pacers

Spinners (with averages)

Taijul Islam: 30.65

Shakib; 31.29

Nayeem Hasan: 22.16 (FC avg of 33.96)

Mehidy: 31.54

Pacers (with averages in Test and FC)

Mustafizur: Test 33.74, FC 24.14

Abu Jayed: Test 29.50, FC 28.63

Ebadat Hossain: FC 28.94

Rubel Hossain: Test 80.33(!!!), FC 57.95

Khaled Ahmed: FC 32.90

Subhashis Roy: Test 51.66, FC 30.25

Taskin Ahmed: Test 97.42(!!!), FC 39.96

Of course, it is worth mentioning that the pacers do not get many games, as spinners dominate FC ans well as Test cricket in Bangladesh.

Are there any pace-friendly grounds? If there are, why not use them??? Winning one game every century away, and winning series after series at home because of bad pitches doesn’t look good to anyone.

(Just for the lols, Zimbabwe drew in Bangladesh 1-1, so maybe Bangladesh aren’t as dominant at home either)

In conclusion: what’s the fucking point.
