James Anderson bowled England into a winning position in the second Test on Friday, taking four wickets to help reduce Australia to 156 for eight before bad light stopped play on the second day.

Australia is still 70 runs short of the follow-on target at Lord's and 269 behind England's first-innings 425, and will have to battle hard to avoid going 1-0 down the five-match series.

Anderson has figures of 4-36 from 17 overs, while Stuart Broad has taken two wickets with Andrew Flintoff and Graham Onions claiming one apiece.

Australia self destructs

Looks like Australia is still in one day mode. Umpiring has been sub standard with almost every LBW appeal given out. But questions have to be asked about consistent failures of Bancroft and Wade. Should never have been selected just on Sheffield Shield form. Paine played a shot that every captain should be ashamed of!
