Australiahave found themselves in a very good position at the close of play against Pakistan on Day 1 of the 1st Test Match.
The home side closed on 305-3 and will be confident of posting a very large first innings score.
Opener Shane Watson was once again dismissed in the 90's he made 93 and is still yet to make a Test Match century.
Captain Ricky Ponting who was an injury doubt leading up to this game due to an injured tendon in his elbow, managed to score 57.
Australia are in decent form in Test Cricket, they beat the West Indies 2-0 at home just a few weeks ago.
Ricky Ponting's men did however lose the Ashes 2-1 to England last summer.
It is the 2nd time in 4 years that Australia have lost the Ashes 2-1 in England.
Pakistan are without former Captain Younis Khan for this series, as Khan has decided to take a break from International Cricket.
