Australiaeased to a 170 run victory over Pakistan in the 1st Test Match of the Series in Melbourne, Pakistan went into the day with 7 wickets in hand and would have felt that they had a chance of pulling off a record run chase, but Australia claimed two wickets in the 1st over on day 5 and from there on it was always going to go the way of the hosts.
Nathan Hauritz bowled superbly and he was rewarded by claiming a 5 wicket haul.
However the Man of the Match accolade went to Shane Watson, the all rounder from Queensland scored 93 in the 1st innings before being run out, however he bounced back to score 120 not out in the 2nd innings.
It was the 1st Test Century in Watson's career, he has twice before been out in the 90's so he would have been delighted to reach 3 figures for the 1st time in Test Match Cricket.
