australia are 220-4 in 41 overs good batting by hayden and symonds so austalia looks like they will be posting a good total
Australia go 1 up in the series by by defeating India by 84 runs.
Australia managed 306, Haddin made 87 n.o and Symonds made 87. India made 222 with Dhoni scoring 58.

Cricinfo - 2nd ODI: India v Australia at Kochi, Oct 2, 2007
it was easy win for australia .... india just could cope with the pressure it was tough task to chase 306 on that pitch ..it was great all round performance showed why they are odi champs
Third ODI, Ponting won the toss and elected to bat and made 290. Symonds again with a stellar innings of 89. If India can get off to a good start and the little master can get into the runs, I wouldnt put this one past India.
symonds batted well for his 89 india are struggling at 46-3 in 13 overs now it looks like australia are heading towards another victory
India fought back well with Yuvraj making 122, but fell short by 47 runs of Australia's 290. Australia now go up 2-0 in the series with 4 matches to play. Its going to be tough for India to win the series from here.

Cricinfo - 3rd ODI: India v Australia at Hyderabad (Decc), Oct 5, 2007
easy victory for australia apart from yuvaraj indian batting order failed badly australia go 2-0 now it will be almost impossible for india to win the series
Superb innings from Yuvi, but unfortunately cricket is a team game and India need to realise that. The bowling wasn't good at all tbh, with only Bhaji really giving me something to smile about. What I'm not liking at all is the miserable bowling at the depth. There's got to be more variation from the bowlers in the form of yorkers, slower deliveries etc.

Kudos to Australia for dominating the match through and through. Pity about Haddin getting dropped though, after two brilliant innings. I said Australia would be tough to beat in 50 over cricket and well, I was right. India aren't going to win from here unless they really play their best cricket.

I also don't understand the inclusion of Murali Kartik. Powar had to be dropped, but personally I felt Pragyan Ojha, who's impressed largely in domestic matches and is young should have got the nod. But, Kartik's done fairly well in England, and as the selectors said they've chosen him because of experience and as we're facing the best team in the world, it could be the right choice.

Australia now clich the series with a 4-1 lead after taking out the 6th ODI lead by a hungry Symonds. imo this series has had it all exciting finishes, entertaining batting (Symonds, Hayden, Singh) and a lot of fire between the two teams (sreethanth).

Yuvraj made 121 in one of the matches that is what I was referring too.
india vs aus 7th match aus won the toss and elected to bat and they are 15-1 in 2 overs
Gilly just went out for 19 and now Australia are now 2/66 after 10 overs.
australia were all out at 193 chasing it india are struggling at 96-6in25 overs
India ended up chasing down the total with 2 wickets in hand :(. Anyway Australia win the series 4-2
Bah. I called it. <_< 4-3, but the first match got rained out, so changed my prediction to 4-2. :)

Oh well, great stuff from the Aussies. They showed the difference between a great team and a good team once again.

We seriously need to drop the likes of Tendulkar and Dravid if they can't perform consistently. Although Tendulkar continues to make runs, he doesn't make it at the same pace (at times he does but not always), and whenever he makes runs, we tend to lose more times than win.

I still don't get why we didn't try out Badrinath for the last ODI. It was a dead rubber, so not much pressure, and Badri should've got a chance to prove his creditentials. Brilliant work by Murali Karthik nonetheless. Best figures by an Indian against the Aussies, plus a fine partnership with Zaheer to help us scamper home. Uthappa played a valuable 47 under pressure. If Uthappa can get some temperemant, and not go down the Sehwag path, I defo see a long future for him in international cricket.

Congrats to the Aussies, and off to the 20/20 now I guess. Hopefully India'll be able to pull the strings together in that match.
