ALL-ROUNDER Elton Chigumbura took three wickets for Zimbabwe Select, leaving the South Africa Composite X1 193 for four wickets before rain interrupted the opening day of their match at Sedgars Park, Potchefstroom.
Spinner Timycen Maruma took the other wicket.
The SA Composite XI won the toss in the first of three Supersport Challenge four-day matches. They lost an early wicket but recovered well.
After the match, the Zimbabwe Select players return home to continue with preparations for the TenSports/Croco Motors One-Day-International Series against the West Indies. The two sides play three of their five games at the Harare Sports Club, with the first on Friday the 30th of November. The other two are on Sunday the 2nd and Tuesday the 4th of December, after which the tour moves to Bulawayo for matches at the Queens Sports Club on Friday the 7th and Sunday the 9th of December.
