Stuart Clark was almost an unlikely hero along with Mitchell Johnson with the bat in the third Test against India at the WACA, but Clark is now hurting massively from his first taste of a Test loss.

Clark and Johnson came to the wicket with the score 8-253 with Australia needing a further 160 to win. Clark added 32 in the pair's 73-run stand, but in the end fell to man-of-the-match Irfan Pathan. Shaun Tait then fell for four leaving Johnson not out 50 and the Aussies fell 72 runs short.

"We always knew we were a chance if we kept going but it was going to be a miracle if it did happen. We were enjoying ourselves and knew if we could get close the pressure would revert back to India," Clark said.
