Jaggu has failed to get a reprieve from Kolkata’s City Civil Court, which refused to restrain the BCCI disciplinary committee from summoning him in connection with the alleged misappropriation of the 1996 World Cup funds.

I am really confused now. When did the trouble begin exactly?

I think it began when the BCCI issued a show cause notice to Dalmiya, asking him to furnish details of a transfer of Rs 40 crore from a Kolkata bank account to Cricket Association of Bengal between 1996 and 2005, when he was the president. After Dalmiya failed to reply to the notice, the BCCI debited the amount to CAB and also decided to withhold all subsidies to it.

I notice that Dalmiya has also waded into IS Bindra. This is he speaking to the Times of India: “I know who is behind all this. Mohali is the epicentre of all my troubles. He [Bindra] tried to implicate me in a false case, accusing me of financial irregularities. We are witnessing a blatant misuse of power.”

Well, can Dalmiya honestly say he never misused his power? That’s human law, sir, to kick your rival in the ribs when he is down.
