SIMON JONES believes his England recall has vindicated his shock decision to leave Glamorgan last winter.
Jones was yesterday named in the 30-man provisional squad for the ICC Champions Trophy in September – and told he could even feature in this summer’s Test series against South Africa.
It is a remarkable turnaround for the 29-year-old whose final years at Glamorgan were blighted by injury and loss of form.
But since his close-season switch to Worcestershire, Jones – albeit against second division batsmen – has taken 26 wickets at the impressive average of 12.53, including four five-wicket hauls.
