Ex Pak selector asks Akhtar to retire
Former Pakistan national selector Ehteshamuddin has urged Shoaib Akhtar to retire from international cricket.
The 34-year-old injury plagued fast bowler, who has declared himself fit to play again for Pakistan, last week took part in three one-day practice matches against the Afghanistan national team, which was training in Lahore.
The Rawalpindi Express played only as a bowler in the first two matches.
Etheshamuddin has questioned Akhtar's fitness earlier as well. He decided not to include Shoaib in Pakistan's 2007 squad to South Africa citing lack of match fitness as the reason.
Shoaib has not played in any five-day match for Pakistan for more than two years now.
But the express bowler is not ready to hang his boots yet. Some time back Shoaib insisted that his international career was not over and said that his aim is to win back his place in the Pakistan team.
