Andrew Flintoff insists England commitments rather than the Indian Premier League are at the forefront of his mind upon returning home from the tour of the Caribbean.

The 31-year-old will miss the remainder of the Test series against West Indies through injury but is hoping to be fit for the limited-overs campaign that follows.

The longer the muscle tear in his hip takes to heal, however, the more scrutiny will be placed on Flintoff's lucrative deal with Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League, which runs for three weeks in April. But Flintoff countered: "I put myself in the IPL knowing the schedule."

England are scheduled to play a Twenty20 match and five one-dayers upon the conclusion of the current Test series.

He added: "Everyone is going on about the IPL, it's a hot topic at the moment, but all I am looking at is playing for England in this one-day series.

"The IPL is a few weeks away, my goal is to play in this one-day series and then the IPL will take care of itself.

"It is something I want to go to but playing for England is the ultimate and that's what I want to do."
