THE Sri Lankan women's cricket team declined to comment on the Lahore terrorist attack when they played a practice match against Australia at Manly Oval yesterday.

The team is in Australia for the Women's World Cup, which will start this weekend.

Coach Chitral Mendis said the team's management was waiting for instructions from Sri Lanka Cricket in Colombo.

One match official said people were on edge a little more than usual. Volunteers kept security tight, restricting access to the players' area.

Australia batted first and made 7-284 from their 50 overs. In reply, Sri Lanka were dismissed for 54.

The Sri Lankan liaison officer said there would be a media briefing at the Menzies Hotel today.
