Gilchrist hails 'Mr Reliable'

Hyderabad skipper Adam Gilchrist hailed his side's fighting spirit as they sealed a five-wicket Indian Premier League victory over Mohali.

"Mr Reliable" Rohit Sharma (68no off 38 balls) blasted a well-paced half-century and Tirumalasetti Suman played the supporting role with a well-paced innings of 43 as the visitors successfully chased Mohali's total of 174.

Gilchrist said: "We believed we were in the game during the chase because it was a beautiful wicket and the ball was nicely coming onto the bat.

"Suman and Mr Reliable Sharma played brilliant innings."

Hyderabad have now won four games in a row to keep their semi-final hopes alive after suffering five successive defeats.

"The team are doing really well and the boys are motivated," Gilchrist added. "We had to take small steps to come out of the five-match losing streak.

Mohali captain Kumar Sangakkara blamed his bowlers for the defeat.

He said: "I think we did not bowl well. We should have tried to hit the blockhole but unfortunately we could not do that and Hyderabad batted well.

"The score of 174 is a good total in Twenty20 on any day and on any track, but we needed to be more disciplined to execute our bowling plans."
