Australian spinner Brad Hogg is free to play in Wednesday's third 3 mobile Test against India in Perth after an allegation of offensive behaviour was withdrawn by the tourists.

Hogg had been initially cited for comments allegedly made towards Indian skipper Anil Kumble and Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

But after International Cricket Council mediator Ranjan Madugalle met with both Kumble and Australian skipper Ricky Ponting on Monday, India decided to drop the complaint.

"As far as we are concerned, with the charge withdrawn, the case is dismissed and the matter is now closed," said ICC Match Referee Mike Procter.
