Lahore Badshahs trounced Hyderabad Heroes by nine-wickets in the fifth game of the Indian Cricket League’s Edelweiss 20s Challenge at Panchkula on Thursday.
Azhar Mahmood’s five-wicket haul and Imran Nazir’s blazing unbeaten 62 were the stand out performances for the Badshahs.The Heroes were shot out for a meagre 86 in 18.4 overs.
Lahore Badshahs chased down the target in 9.4 overs to notch its second victory in as many outings. Nazir tore into the bowling during his 32-ball innings. hitting three sixes and eight boundaries.
Nazir along with Humayun Farhat (18 n.o., 24 balls, 1x6), finished off the job for the all-Pakistani outfit after opener Imran Farhat fell to Abdul Razzaq in the first over.
Heroes, after opting to bat, struggled right through, with not one of of the first six batsmen reaching double figures. Nicky Boje, who scored an unbeaten 39 off 52 deliveries, was the only one to offer some resistance. He hit five boundaries and added 38 runs with Abdul Razzaq (10, 11 balls) for the seventh wicket.
With wickets tumbling in each of the first seven overs except the third, the pressure piled on the Heroes. Mahmood bowled the 19th over and picked up three wickets off four deliveries to end the innings.
