Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh turned in superb performances to help Indiadefeat Sri Lanka by 46 runs in the ODI in Colombo.
Tendulkar smashed 138 from 133 balls to help India post a formidable total of 319-5 from their 50 overs.
Harbhajan ran through Sri Lanka'a middle order picking up figures of 5 for 56.
Sri Lanka have been one of the form teams in world cricket and they will be bitterly disappointed with this loss.
India will be buoyed by this victory ahead of the ICC Champion Trophy which starts in just over a week's time in South Africa.
MS Dhoni's men had an extremely disappointing World Twenty20 campaign in England earlier this year and they will be desperate to make amends in South Africa.
South Africa has been a happy hunting ground for India in recent times, they won the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 tournament their in 2007 and reached the 50 overs World Cup in South Africa in 2003, losing out to Australia.
If India can maintain this form then it would take a brave person to Betagainst them winning the Champions Trophy.
