Indiago into this year's ICC Champions Trophy tournament in desperate to maintain their superb desperate to maintain their superb record in South Africa.
India managed to reach the finals of the 2003 ICC World Cup where they lost out to Ricky Ponting's Australia in the final.
In 2007 the inaugural ICC World Twenty20 competition MS Dhoni led an inexperienced Indian team to the title.
There is no doubt that India's form has been patchy so far this year and they would have been very disappointed with their early exit from this year's ICC World Twenty20 tournament in England.
Despite that disappointing performance it is fair to say that India have been playing some good One Day cricket and just last week they managed to win a triangular series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand.
India will need to be at their very best if they are to make a real impact in this year's Champions Trophy but they certainly can draw on their past performances in South Africa.
If India play to their best then they have every chance of upsetting the Betting Oddsand winning the title.
