Can you believe Brain Lara’s average in this series? 26.37 in four Tests! That’s pathetic, and I didn’t think too much about his captaincy either.

Reese, I think West Indies had their best captain in Clive Lloyd, and there won’t be anyone like him for quite some time to come. But it isn’t Lara’s fault. A brilliant player doesn’t necessarily make a great captain. Look at Sachin Tendulkar.

Very true, Bob. Besides, with all the other sports that kids in the West Indies play today – like soccer and baseball – cricket is taking a backseat. I bet more kids want to play in the soccer World Cup as the Soca Warriors did than they want to play cricket.

But at least the cricket matches still draw good crowds, so it is only fair that the spectators are treated to good games, unlike the rubbish matches that the first three Tests turned out to be.
