The inaugural tournament of the Indian Premier League (IPL) casting super stars from all over the world has gone half the way with tremendous success. The star cast includes about a dozen top players from Pakistan. The biggest sensation of the championship was created by Pakistan’s young Sohail Tanvir who in his volcanic spell of 4 overs clinched 6 wickets for only 14 runs. He performed this Herculean feat while representing Rajasthan Royals against the Chennai Super Kings at Jaipur. This is a world record in all levels of Twety20 cricket. Commenting on this magnificent performance Sohail said that he could never imagine that his four overs would emerge as a record-making spell. The only effort he made was to maintain the right line and length. He further added that after achieving this feat he felt proud of being a Pakistani.

I'm just not into it at all. I'm a purist and faithful follower of the county game. Don't get me wrong here...at little Twenty20 is all right but it isn't the "new cricket" some pundits seem to think it is.

I say scrap the Pro40.....keep the FP and Twenty20 and be done with it for England counties.
