After losing the Ashes earlier this summer to Englandmany were quick to write off Australia, yet once again they have bounced back in superb style, by winning the Champions Trophy.
Australia took the cricket world by storm back in 2006 when the won the title for the 1st time, beating the West Indies in the Final, however this year there one day form had been very up and down and many were predicting a new winner of the competition
Australia once again however displayed the resilience that they are famous for by winning the title against the Odds on Monday when they defeated their local rivals New Zealand.

Having lost the Ashes this summer and having performed so badly in the World Twenty20 this year, many no longer regard Ricky Ponting's men as the best team in world cricket.

Prior to this year's Champions Trophy event many questions were raised as to the future of the tournament, now the real question should be just how significant is Australia's triumph in the context of World Cricket today?
