Younis Khan has rejected the opportunity to succeed Inzamam-ul-Haq as Pakistan's new captain.
The 29-year-old batsman is unhappy at the treatment the team has received following their return home from a disastrous World Cup campaign.
Inzamam stepped down as skipper after Pakistan were knocked out of the World Cup before the Super Eight stage.
Younis, who will play for Yorkshire in this year's County Championship, said: "I have always given 100 per cent for my country.
"But when your family gets threatening calls and our effigies are burnt and our pictures put on donkeys, I can't lead the team in such circumstances."
