Following another game full of runs between New Zealand A and the England Lions, Palmerston North's Fitzherbert Park has been given positive reviews.

NZ A easily chased down England's total of 284 yesterday on the back of a James Marshall century.

The Northern Districts captain smashed 125 not out from 112 balls as he guided the home side to a six-wicket win.

Gareth Hopkins provided good support with an unbeaten 66 and Central Districts opener Peter Ingram chipped in with a quickly made 37 at the top of the innings.

NZ A coach Mike Hesson said the two wins in the one-day games were good for his side.

"Very pleased. Against a good England A side a lot of runs scored over the last few days," he said. "Disappointing there wasn't a big crowd here to see some quality cricket."

Hesson said the ground staff had done a fantastic job to get the ground up to speed after rain, which delayed the first game by a day.
