Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik on Monday suffered an ankle injury during a training session after his team's defeat against India in the opening Test.
"The boys were playing football after the match when Malik twisted his ankle. He was taken to a hospital for precautionary X-rays," said Pakistani team media co-ordinator Javed Akhtar.
He said it was too early to say whether Malik would be doubtful for the second Test, starting in Kolkata on Friday.
Pakistan trail 1-0 in the three-match series following their six-wicket defeat on the fifth and final morning of the first Test. The last match will begin in Bangalore on December 8.
