Mark Gillespie has been ruled out of the second Test against Bangladesh with a sore shoulder.
The paceman sustained the injury, which is a recurrence of a previous problem, whilst bowling for Wellington against Auckland.
He took three wickets in four overs to skittle out the top order - but it came at a price as he was unable to take any further part in the match and Auckland went on to win the encounter.
Wellington coach Anthony Stuart told The Dominion Post: "He was confident of getting through 10 overs and he got three wickets for us early and then just pulled up lame so it doesn't look good.
"It only hits him at certain times and I don't know if there's an apparent reason for it or not, whether there's something in his action, I don't know.
"We can't pinpoint it."
Iain O’Brien, Michael Mason and Jeetan Patel are the most likely challengers for a place in the Kiwi attack.
