All of Pakistan’s top players have been given a 25% rise in their contracts. This means Inzamam, Shoaib Akhtar, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Abdul Razzaq and Shahid Afridi, who were on a monthly retainer of US$ 3750, now get 25% more. Players in the category of Mohammad Sami, Danish Kaneria, Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal used to receive US$ 2500 a month so that will mean 25% extra. Players in the bottom rung were paid US$ 1250 a month + 25%. It gets better, because the incentives mean that for every Test or ODI win against England, West Indies (at home) and South Africa (away series) each player will be paid US$ 3333. And each series win against England, West Indies or South Africa will give the players a further US$ 8333.33.
