Zimbabwe Cricket chairman Peter Chingoka is adamant the tour of Pakistan will go ahead as scheduled despite security fears in the Asian country.

There have been genuine security concerns in the wake of the violence that gripped Pakistan following the murder of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto on December 27.

However, Chingoka told the media in Harare at the weekend that ZC were committed to fulfilling their Futures Tours obligations and also maintaining the cordial relations that exist between them and the Pakistan Cricket Board.

"We are definitely going ahead with the tour as ZC has an obligation to fulfil its obligations under the Futures Tours programme," said Chingoka.

"The team leaves on January 11 and should be back on February 8.

"The fact is we enjoy excellent relations with the Pakistan Cricket Board, which we hope to maintain by abiding by the International Cricket Council rules and regulations."
