Sri Lanka are on top at the end of day 1 of the 2nd Test Match against New Zealand in Colombo, the hosts who are 1-0 up in the series, found themselves nicely placed on 262-3 at the close of play.
Sri Lanka's skipper Kumar Sangakkara made 50 while former captain Mahela Jayawardene is unbeaten on 79.
Widely regarded as one of the most talented teams in world Cricket Sri Lanka have been in fantastic form in recent months, having reached the finals of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament in June before losing out to Pakistan in the title match at Lord's.
Sri Lanka then managed to exact some revenge over Pakistan a month later as they pulled of Test and ODI Series triumphs at home to Younis Khan's men.
Another good performance with the bat tommorow and Sri Lanka will feel they are on course to take a 2-0 series lead against the Kiwis.
