A brilliant innings or 106 from Sri Lanka's opener Tilkaratne Dilshan enabled his side to post a superb total of 319-8 from their 50 overs, in the 1st match of this year's ICC Champions Trophy against hosts South AfricaSri Lanka have been playing some good One Day cricket over the last few months, with series victories against Pakistan and Zealand.
They also finished runners up against India in last week’s triangular series which also involved New Zealand.
Dilshan was the man of the tournament for his dynamic batting in the World Twenty20 tournament in England this summer.
Many expected that Dilshan's performances would see Sri Lanka go all the way and win the world Twenty20 tournament, however Sri Lanka were stunned by a resurgent Pakistani team in the final at Lord's.
Sri Lanka have given themselves every chance of getting off to the best possible start in this tournament but in South Africa they face the best side in the world and a team who will be hungry to impress their adoring fans.
If South Africa find their best form then it would take a brave person to Betagainst them going all the way and winning the title.
