The fall and fall of Irfan Pathan

What is it with Irfan Pathan now? Apparently, even his teammates are saying that he’ll never be dropped because he is the coach’s favourite. So we’ll have to put up with the pathetic sight of a wannabe fast bowler who just can’t manage over 85 mph.

I think Pathan’s problem is that he doesn’t know who he should be following. Too many people expect him to be the next Wasim Akram or the next Kapil Dev. I think he is the next Chaminda Vaas, and he should realize that too.
I think Irfan’s immediate challenge lies in understanding his limitations and learning how to still be a good bowler. It can be done, because many have done it before him. A not very obvious example is Danny Morrison, who made up for his lack of inches with spirit and a nippy outswinger.

thats a bit harsh what about glenn mcgrath?? even if he isnt vry tall he has decent figures and crucially can bat. an average of above 30 usually confirms a player as an all rounder and his average is very close to this 29.28 (i think). As a result i can c why hes the coaches favourite!
he was firey in the begging the hat-trick against PAK at the time they where 39 for 6 and we still won...PAKISTAN....
