THESE are very interesting times – and not just because Glamorgan won two games in the space of 48 hours.
I talk of course of the Twenty20 revolution that has hit world cricket over the last few months.
The combination of the Indian Premier League, its arch-rival the Indian Cricket League and the moves afoot by billionaire Sir Allen Stanford to bring a big-money version of the abbreviated game to the UK.
But, although it is a brilliant time for cricket, and the top stars can earn top dollar for a few weeks work, I do have my reservations about how razzmatazz Twenty20 is going to make its mark in the bigger scheme of things.
First of all, I think the International Cricket Council needs to get a grip of where competitions like the IPL fit into the ever-increasingly cluttered world fixture list.
