No Canada series?

Who thinks of these things? The India-West Indies match-up in Canada was a no hoper from the start. And with Canada refusing to host the series, I hope it is scrapped once and for all.

No way, pal. The Indian Board is already looking for alternative venues, and claims to be flooded with offers from other countries should the West Indies not be interested. That brings me to this contracts row threatening to explode. Didn’t something similar happen with the Indian cricketers some time ago?

Yes it did, and once again, a cricket board is going too far.

This is from the Jamaica Observer: “Although the West Indies Cricket Board’s increasingly desperate attempts to stage a much-needed fund-raising one-day series has been stalled by Canada’s refusal to act as hosts, it has now started planning a tournament at home in January. West Indian officials admitted they want to host India and Sri Lanka for a tri-series in January next year ahead of the World Cup in the Caribbean in March-April.”
