When Ravi Boparascored 3 centuries in succession against the West Indies earlier this year, many believed that a new star of world cricket
had been born, indeed the last English, batsman to make 3 hundred in a row at Test level, was another Essex player, Graham Gooch.
However since that superb run of form Bopara has gone through an extremely lean spell, his top score in 4 Ashes Test Matches was 35 and this saw him dropped for the 5th and final Test Match at the Oval which England won to regain the famous little urn.

Bopara had been a regular in England's ODI side over the last 2 years but his poor form from the Ashes crept into the shorter form of the game and as a result he found himself on the sidelines for a few games in the recently concluded ICC Champion's Trophy.
The next 12 months could well be crucial in terms of determining where Bopara's International career goes from here.
If Bopara can find his best form then he has every chance of upsetting the Betting Oddsand becoming a regular in the England team once again.
