After their creditable show in the domestic cricket, youngsters contracted with the Deccan Chargers are hoping to carry the momentum into the Indian Premier League and help their team perform better. Chargers had finished at the bottom of the eight-team tournament last year.

N Arjun Yadav, son of Hyderabad Cricket Association Secretary Shivlal Yadav, hopes that his side will leave behind the past performance and put up a good show this year.

"Unfortunately, we could not do well last year. But we are determined to do well this year," Yadav told PTI.

Yadav, who played 57 first-class matches and scored 2709 runs, played three matches last year.

The Chargers have signed up three foreigners -- Ryan Harris, Fidel Edwards, Dwayne Smith -- and five Indians -- Abhinav Kumar, T Suman, SM Shoaib, Jaskarandeep Singh and HS Bansal -- for the new season.
