Indiahave been dealt a massive blow as their star batsman Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy in South Africa with a fractured right finger. Yuvraj sustained the injury while training and has been told to rest for 6 weeks. The left handed batsman was one of India's star players in South Africa when they won the 2007 World Twenty20 tournament. In that tournament Yuvraj managed the outstanding feat of hitting 6 6s in an over against England's Stuart Broad. On his day Yuvraj is one of the most dangerous batsmen in world Cricket and India will be very disappointed by this latest development.
As well as being a superb hitter Yuvraj is also a useful part time bowler and he is one of the best fielders in world cricket.
India's 1st game of the tournament is on Saturday against their arch rivals Pakistan. The two teams met in the groups stages of the tournament in 2004, Pakistan emerged victorious on that occasion. If Pakistan play to their potential then they have a chance of upsetting the Betting Oddsand beating India again on Saturday.
